About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our AWS Infrastructure team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and troubleshooting building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) in our data centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement BMS and EPMS projects, including scope of work, schedule, budget, and level of effort.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to operations teams during the life cycle of data centers.
  • Review and implement controls sequence of operation (SOO) and provide feedback to design teams.
  • Design, configure, and program controls logic and graphical user interfaces.
  • Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables, requirements, and navigate challenging situations.
  • Frequently visit assigned data centers to troubleshoot, meet customers, and supervise vendor work.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering science, plus 5+ years of relevant controls experience, or 10+ years of relevant controls experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data centers, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemicals, laboratories, power, and water).
  • 4+ years of general project or vendor management experience associated with construction and project execution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Controls/Automation).
  • Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting, or servicing HVAC controls or electrical SCADA systems application-specific controllers, software, and networks.
  • Experience using common industrial communication protocols (MQTT, BACnet, and/or MODBUS).
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholder deliverables, requirements, and navigate difficult situations.
  • Experience designing data centers or critical MEP infrastructure.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Prior AWS/Amazon experience.
