Position Summary

The Manufacturing Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in steering the production and maintenance activities in alignment with the company's vision and core values. This position champions a "Culture of Safety" by fostering an environment that prioritizes employee-driven safety measures and hazard control. The manager will guide the local operations in defining long-term strategic goals while overseeing the production schedule to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to budgetary constraints. Continuous improvement initiatives will be a key focus, along with the management of predictive and preventative maintenance protocols to uphold asset reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and uphold safety and continuous production flow methodologies in collaboration with the plant manager.
  • Proactively identify and execute process enhancements, focusing on cost reduction, asset utilization, and team optimization.
  • Drive leadership development and team dynamics, preparing for organizational changes and fostering a talent pipeline.
  • Oversee the finalization of daily and weekly production schedules in conjunction with the planning team.
  • Facilitate effective communication among staff through structured meetings and informal check-ins.
  • Ensure comprehensive training programs are in place for all employees, promoting skill advancement and operational excellence.
  • Optimize plant layout to maximize safety and operational efficiency.
  • Manage inventory processes to align finished goods with business targets.
  • Conduct monthly OSHA compliance training in partnership with the EH&S Coordinator.
  • Engage the safety committee to enhance awareness and drive safety initiatives.
  • Oversee the preventative and predictive maintenance strategy for the facility.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of metal fabrication processes and stay updated on industry advancements.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in an industrial setting.
  • Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Production, or a related field.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and training that demonstrate the ability to fulfill the key responsibilities of this role are also acceptable.

  • Proven capability in resource planning and allocation.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective processes and procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate resources to achieve business objectives and meet customer expectations.
  • In-depth knowledge of efficient production and manufacturing techniques.
  • Familiarity with company products, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated managerial and supervisory competencies.
  • Budgeting and financial analysis proficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in computer operations and relevant software applications.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and implement change effectively.
  • Facilitation of meetings and team leadership capabilities.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are a plus.

Work Environment

  • Industrial plant setting.
  • Frequent walking and standing (6+ hours/day).
  • Regular lifting (up to 10 lbs.) and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.).
  • Maximum lift capacity of up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent ladder climbing.
