Key Responsibilities

The CVOR Travel RN will be responsible for:

  • Delivering comprehensive perioperative care in recovery, procedure, and operating rooms, particularly for cardiac surgeries such as open heart and bypass procedures.
  • Ensuring the operating room is properly sterilized and equipped with all necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Monitoring patient vitals and promptly reporting any adverse reactions.
  • Developing and implementing tailored patient care plans for surgical patients.
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed to assigned patients.
  • Providing education to patients and families regarding lifestyle modifications, home care protocols, and ongoing treatment plans.
  • Responding to medical emergencies and alerting the appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Exhibiting flexibility to travel to various assignment locations.
  • Complying with the facility's required schedule.
  • Completing onboarding tasks in a timely manner.
  • Adapting quickly to new environments while striving for the highest quality of patient care.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a CVOR nurse.
  • A degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • A current state-specific RN license in good standing, or a compact state RN license if applicable.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS certification may be necessary.
