Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse to join our team at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, CA. As a PICU Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to critically ill children.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will have 2+ years of experience in CVPICU/CTICU with pediatric cardiac experience and heart transplant experience. You will be responsible for providing post-operative cardiac surgical care, caring for cardiology patients, complex congenital patients, acquired heart disease patients, heart transplantation, VADs, and ECMO. Additionally, you will work with patients ranging from neonatal up to 23 years old and be able to float to various units except OR, PACU, and ED, including PICU, NICU, medical, surgical, hem/onc, and medical behavioral unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Function at the standard level of nursing practice in a 30-37 bed unit
- Provide post-operative cardiac surgical care, care for cardiology patients, complex congenital patients, acquired heart disease patients, heart transplantation, VADs, and ECMO
- Work with patients ranging from neonatal up to 23 years old
- Ability to float to various units except OR, PACU, and ED, including PICU, NICU, medical, surgical, hem/onc, and medical behavioral unit
- Occasionally float to satellite locations
- Weekend requirement: 6 shifts per 4-week schedule; night shift includes any combination of Friday/Saturday nights, day shift includes Saturday/Sunday
- Participation in 13-week contracts with options for 3x12 variable or straight night shifts
- Self-scheduling available, with a ratio of 1:1-2
Requirements
- Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 holidays
- Candidates will float within the hospital system, and for NICU, they may float to satellite locations
- Traveling staff eligible after one year of permanent employment
- Orientation hours are provided

Salary Information
The estimated weekly pay for this position is $2595.00. This figure is based on the job title, location, and industry standards.
