**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Corrections Health Nurse to join our team at the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in Newport, OR. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide top-notch medical care to adult inmates in our county corrections facility.

**Key Responsibilities**

As a Corrections Health Nurse, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing comprehensive health maintenance, preventive, and primary medical care, and treatment for adult inmates.
  • Assisting in the operation of the health care unit and developing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating professional nursing practices under the direction of the Sergeant.
  • Conducting and documenting initial and ongoing comprehensive and focused nursing assessments of the health status of patients.
  • Analyzing data to derive a nursing diagnosis and priorities.
  • Developing and coordinating a comprehensive plan of nursing care to maintain continuity of treatment.
  • Administering medical and nursing treatments, including giving medications, titrating medications, daily detox assessments, and handling dressing changes.
**Requirements and Qualifications**

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing or an Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.

A minimum of 3 years' experience as a non-licensed or licensed caregiver is preferred, along with current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification and a valid Oregon driver's license. We also require applicants to be free of conviction of a crime designated under the law where the conviction occurred as being punishable as a felony or as a crime for which a maximum term of imprisonment of more than one year may be imposed.
