Position Overview:

Denovo Review, a well-established law firm in Chicago, is on the lookout for a seasoned Partner to enhance its Business Reorganization and Creditors' Rights Practice. The successful candidate will possess substantial expertise in advocating for creditors, secured lenders, and asset purchasers in various financial restructurings and reorganizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent lenders and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, asset-based lending, foreclosures, and debtor-in-possession financing transactions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Illinois commercial mortgage foreclosure, forbearance, receivership law, personal property foreclosure, the Fraudulent Transfer Act, and remedies under Article 9 of the UCC. Additional experience in investor representation, financial sponsor transactions, exchange offers, debt-for-equity swaps, prepackaged and prearranged chapter 11 cases, and bankruptcy litigation is advantageous.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, becoming an essential part of the team and confidently building relationships with clients. This role involves serving as a business advisor, guiding clients through a comprehensive range of legal matters throughout their business lifecycle.
  • A degree or background in business or finance is preferred.
  • Candidates must hold a valid license in Illinois or be licensed in another state with a UBE score that qualifies for comity in Illinois, be eligible to waive in, or be prepared to take the Illinois bar exam. A portable book of business is essential.
  • Engage in a practice that encompasses all facets of complex and sophisticated transactions for clients across various industries. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney seeking a promising career path, with a focus on business development and involvement in the firm's succession strategy.
  • This role offers a flexible work schedule, allowing for a hybrid remote/in-office presence.
