Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager at Amtec Inc. is responsible for ensuring the functional performance of the maintenance and die maintenance departments. This includes safety, work quality, throughput, cost, and employee engagement. The goal is to have equipment and tooling available and operational to support production activities.
A key responsibility is to drive continuous improvement in the department. This includes expanding predictive maintenance capabilities, clarifying procedures, improving spare parts tracking, and developing electronic maintenance tracking systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor and reduce production equipment downtime.
- Maintain a strong safety focus and an accident-free maintenance department.
- Maintain a near zero backlog of repair tickets and preventive maintenance workorders.
- Monitor for unsafe work practices and drive improvements to procedures and work behaviors.
- Develop and execute plans for improving productivity in the maintenance department.
- Improve the consistency and quality of maintenance activities.
- Mentor supervisors and maintenance staff.
- Improve scheduling and staffing of maintenance resources.
- Drive down the cost to perform maintenance activities.
Education/Qualifications
- Must have at least a four-year college degree.
- Must have 5 years of previous maintenance management or related technical experience.
- Must have strong leadership and team management skills.
- Must have thorough knowledge of industrial maintenance functions and methods.
- Excellent communications skills are required.
- Must be able to manage a computerized maintenance management system.
