The State of Vermont is seeking a Staff Attorney Investigator to join our team in Montpelier. This role offers an exciting opportunity to investigate allegations of discrimination in housing, state government employment, and places of public accommodations.

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have a law degree and/or completion of requirements for admission to the Vermont Bar. Strong communication and negotiation skills are also essential for success in this role.

The selected individual will be responsible for conducting investigations, analyzing evidence, and preparing detailed reports. They will also engage in conciliation efforts with represented and unrepresented parties and draft legally enforceable settlement agreements. In addition, they may develop curricula and deliver training to a variety of constituents at different levels.

This is an exempt position within the State of Vermont's attorney pay plan, and the salary is determined accordingly. A generous benefits package and excellent annual leave policy are also offered.
