Clinical Research Assistant

The Clinical Research Assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating patient visits for research in accordance with ICH-GCP standards and the approved study protocol. Daily responsibilities may vary based on individual expertise and the evolving needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage patient appointments within specified study timelines as per protocol requirements.
  • Prepare necessary documentation and charts for the Clinical Research Coordinator.
  • Assist the Coordinator in patient care and management activities.
  • Support the monitoring of patient flow and contribute to patient care efforts.
  • Collect and document essential data during follow-up visits, including adverse events and concomitant medications (applicable to Phase 2 & 3 studies; excluding Gene Therapy).
  • Transfer patient study information from source documents to Electronic Case Report Forms.
  • Administer mandatory questionnaires to study participants.
  • Set up and conduct electrocardiograms (ECG) on participants as required by the study protocol.
  • Request necessary medical records for Serious Adverse Event Reporting in a timely manner.
  • Process and send laboratory biological samples for analysis.
  • Conduct intraocular pressure assessments following injections.
  • Perform trial frame refraction and ETDRS visual acuity testing (limited to specific sites for ISTs).
  • Inform participants and secure written re-consents regarding Informed Consent Forms.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
  • Complete any required sponsor training and/or certifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • College degree (Preferred).
  • Experience in ophthalmology (Preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Travel Requirements

All candidates must be willing to travel and provide support to Clinical Research Coordinators across multiple locations.
