Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of high-quality ultrasound procedures under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document calibration procedures for individual imaging equipment.
  • Assist the Radiologist in performing invasive biopsy procedures using the Ultrasound system to pinpoint exact anatomical locations of diseased areas for specimen evaluation and diagnosis.
  • Ensure accurate charging and submission of procedures for correct billing.
  • Maintain a well-stocked Ultrasound room, check equipment and computer status for readiness, and report any issues that may impact workflow.
  • Perform all tasks as assigned, including patient care responsibilities, in a manner that meets the unique needs of patients served by the department.
  • Adapt patient assessment to accommodate the physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, and developmental needs of each patient.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the CORE values of Christus Health.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-year scanning experience in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Breast Ultrasound.
  • ARDMS or ARRT/Sonography certification in Abdomen required within one year.
  • LRST/ARRT Radiologic Technology License preferred.
  • Certification in OB/GYN or Breast preferred.
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
