Cardiac Sonographer Position

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Sonographer at Wellstar Health System, Inc. performs a variety of cardiac imaging procedures, including adult, pediatric, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams, as well as possess strong critical thinking skills to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all cardiac imaging procedures, including echocardiograms and stress tests
  • Measure and calculate data according to laboratory protocol
  • Provide oral summaries of preliminary findings to interpreting physicians
  • Ensure patient safety and well-being in the Echo department
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program preferred
  • Registered Medical Sonographer or Reg Cardiac Sonographer certification required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in echocardiography preferred

Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain attention to detail. The Cardiac Sonographer must also be able to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams, as well as possess strong critical thinking skills to ensure accurate diagnoses.
