Job Summary

US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to support our offices located in Newport News and Hampton. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission of providing comprehensive cancer care and blood disorders services.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with injections, pap smears, biopsies, and LEEP procedures.
  • Prepare lab specimens for send out.
  • Assess patients for changes in condition, including abnormal labs, x-rays, and scans.
  • Set up procedures, referrals, and obtain prior authorization.
  • Obtain pathology reports, manage faxes, and return patient phone calls.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow.
  • Document all elements of care.
  • Support Medical Assistants as needed.
  • Communicate patient information to the physician, nurse, or advanced practice provider.
  • Assess patient and family needs.
  • Prepare new patient charts for physician review.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Current LPN state license and registration.
  • Minimum of two years-experience as a practical nurse in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Ability to travel between offices as needed.
