Position Summary:
HomeFirst Services is a prominent organization dedicated to providing essential services, shelter, and housing solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in Santa Clara County. The Custodian II will perform a variety of custodial and housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine janitorial duties, including cleaning and restocking supplies.
- Collect and dispose of waste and litter from the premises.
- Manage trash collection, including the movement of dumpsters for municipal pickup.
- Ensure recycling and waste disposal areas are organized and clean.
- Maintain cleanliness of common area floors through sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Perform cleaning tasks in offices, laundry rooms, and other facilities.
- Regularly inspect the grounds for litter and safety hazards.
- Keep track of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor for reordering.
- Maintain a tidy and organized maintenance shop and storage areas.
- Ensure utility and meter rooms are free from debris.
- Service and clean common area restrooms.
- Perform carpet cleaning and floor waxing as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues to management.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager and staff regarding property conditions.
- Utilize cleaning products according to safety guidelines.
- Execute additional janitorial tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to follow instructions and take direction.
- Demonstrated professionalism and reliability.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
