Position Overview:

The Offset Second Press Operator plays a crucial role in supporting the First Press Operator by assisting in the setup and operation of printing machinery according to client specifications. This position is essential for maintaining efficient production workflows while ensuring the highest quality standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the quality of printed materials by aiding in the adjustment and monitoring of color, adhering to the established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for quality assurance.
  • Assists in maintaining proper alignment, folding, and compensation, promptly identifying and rectifying any discrepancies.
  • Participates in the setup and operation of equipment, including configuring press computers, units, folders, and auxiliary devices, while also performing routine maintenance.
  • Contributes to the webbing process of the press.
  • Ensures cleanliness and assists in the mechanical upkeep of the press.
  • Engages in additional responsibilities related to safety, quality control, and production efficiency.
  • Provides training to new employees as necessary.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Proficient in reading and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures and job specifications.
  • Capable of accurately identifying color discrepancies and defects in printed products.
  • Able to match finished products to customer samples effectively.
  • Competent in utilizing computer systems to monitor and ensure product quality.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Previous experience as a Press Assistant I or II.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and mechanical operations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds regularly.
  • Willingness to stand and work for 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, including overtime as required.
