Position Overview:

The Clinical Psychologist Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing the Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Care Manager teams within the Primary Care Mental Health Care Integration Program.

This position utilizes the AIMS model of Integrated Primary Care, providing essential psychotherapeutic support across various practices within the network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver psychological services and collaborate effectively with patients in Primary Care clinics.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments, provide psychological interventions, and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Offer clinical supervision and training to Psychology Residents, Postdoctoral Fellows, and other medical trainees.

Qualifications:
Education:
Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited institution.
Completion of an internship from an APA accredited program.
At least one year of postdoctoral fellowship or relevant experience in health psychology, primary care mental health, or consultation-liaison psychology is preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of post-licensure experience in Clinical Psychology is preferred.
Experience in providing individual psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and consultation is also preferred.
Strong proficiency in cognitive-behavioral therapy and other evidence-based clinical interventions, crisis assessment, psychological testing, diagnostic formulation, and treatment planning is required.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with excellent communication skills is essential.
A positive, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset is necessary.
Ability to synthesize medical and psychiatric information and provide effective, evidence-based clinical recommendations is crucial.
Experience working with children, youth, and families is required for Family and Pediatric Primary Care practices.
The Clinical Psychologist Specialist must hold a valid license as a Psychologist in the state of Vermont. Post-doctoral psychology trainees may be considered.
