Position Overview

The Production Maintenance Lead is accountable for ensuring the safety and efficiency of the Maintenance Mechanics during their assigned shift.

This role encompasses the upkeep (Preventive, Reactive, and Deferred) of production machinery across the facility.

The Lead will liaise with Production Supervisors to establish priorities and inform Production and Maintenance Management of any situations that necessitate escalation.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular Safety Audits in designated areas, identifying potential safety hazards such as work practices, equipment malfunctions, PPE adherence, etc.
Comply with Leader Standard Work protocols as specified by Maintenance Management.
Recruit, train, assess, and nurture maintenance staff.
Provide daily guidance to technical personnel across all shifts regarding tasks and projects.
Ensure peak performance and dependability of machinery.
Manage expenses by adhering to maintenance protocols and eliminating superfluous activities.
Spot opportunities for enhancing equipment performance, devise alternative solutions to potential issues, and execute resolution strategies.
Collaborate on programs/projects with Plant Engineering and other relevant departments within the facility.
Guarantee adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
Engage in special projects as they arise.
Research and formulate training and procedures, implementing change control documentation as necessary for safety or equipment reliability.
Perform additional tasks (dispatch, etc.) as directed by Maintenance Management.
Must successfully complete Vision and Hearing assessments, including color and depth perception evaluations.
Knowledge & Skills Required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is mandatory.

Alternative education/experience will also be considered:
An Associate degree with 3 years of maintenance experience, ideally in a supervisory capacity.
A High School Diploma with 6 years of maintenance, technical trade, or licensed trade experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
Work Environment
Work is conducted in a controlled environment.

While executing the responsibilities of this position, the employee may need to sit or stand for extended periods.

Must be capable of occasionally moving and lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Typically requires minimal travel.
