Overview
Elderwood is expanding and is currently seeking a Full-Time Practical Nursing Specialist to become part of our dedicated team. We offer a $7500 sign-on bonus for full-time positions and $3750 for part-time roles. Full-time evening shifts are available with an additional $2.00 shift differential. New full-time staff have the option to decline certain elected benefits in exchange for up to 16% additional pay.
As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents in assisted living environments. Your responsibilities will include administering medications, overseeing personal care services provided by Resident Assistants, and communicating any changes in residents' conditions to the nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer and/or assist with medications for assigned residents and monitor those participating in self-medication programs.
- Supervise the personal care provided by Resident Assistants and assist them with direct care as needed.
- Report any changes in residents' conditions, daily needs, and progress to the Director of Nursing.
- Follow the individualized care plans for each resident.
- Manage the receiving, storing, and distribution of controlled substances, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records regarding the care provided to residents in Case Notes and Medication Administration Records.
- Assist in addressing staffing, supply, and resident care issues during your shift.
- Ensure that care standards are upheld and that residents' rights and preferences are respected.
- Handle lost and found items appropriately and notify the relevant personnel.
Qualifications
- Must possess a current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Experience in geriatric nursing is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively supervise staff and collaborate with other departments are essential.
- This role requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, and supervisors, necessitating proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English at an intermediate level or higher.
