Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Obsolescence Solutions Engineer Sr to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for identifying and analyzing Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) components and software on both Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and products, and providing design guidance to engineering for use of preferred parts, materials, and suppliers to minimize impact from obsolescence and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze technical and obsolescence data to identify potential impacts on internal and external customers
  • Provide design guidance to engineering for use of preferred parts, materials, and suppliers to minimize impact from obsolescence and DMSMS
  • Review new drawings and designs and propose certain suppliers/technologies for both COTS electrical and mechanical part selections based on cost, obsolescence forecasts, reliability, quality, and availability
  • Lead and support working group meetings to track status and action items regarding obsolescence
  • Measure and track internal metrics to ensure processes and resolutions are being followed and implemented
  • Lead DMSMS programs and ensure day-to-day activities are successfully accomplished
Requirements
  • Self-starter with ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and close on tasks
  • Familiarity with commercial computer systems, equipment, software, technologies, system analysis, and design
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to research on own, and experience as an individual contributor in a team environment
  • Two years of Obsolescence and DMSMS experience or other related/relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Ability to present outcomes and findings to engineering and other program teams and actively participate in large audience discussions
  • Proficiency with Excel
Desired Skills
  • Experience with design and development of hardware and software
  • Knowledge and experience with Consolidated DMSMS Analysis Tools Suite (CDATS)
  • Experience writing Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
  • Familiarity with radar architecture
  • Familiarity with engineering processes (PR/ECN/CCB)
  • Working knowledge of SAP, COS, P2P, SiliconExpert, IHS, EPDM, and Parts Visibility
  • Experience in DoD Logistics
