As a key member of the UTMB Health team, the Exercise Physiologist plays a vital role in enhancing the health outcomes of patients with cardiopulmonary and cardiovascular conditions. This position focuses on delivering tailored fitness and wellness programs aimed at improving patient health.
Responsibilities:
1. Assess and implement individualized exercise regimens for cardiopulmonary patients, prioritizing risk mitigation and lifestyle modification.
2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
3. Monitor patient progress and adjust exercise plans as necessary to achieve optimal health results.
Certifications Required:
- Current CPR certification.
- ACLS certification to be obtained within six months of employment.
Travel Requirements:
This role is primarily based in Galveston, with potential travel to various campuses as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline.
- At least one year of clinical experience.
- CPR certification is mandatory, along with ACLS certification within six months of hire.
- American College of Sports Medicine certification to be acquired within six months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a health-related field.
Compensation:
Salary is set at $30.59 per hour, commensurate with experience.
