At Oglethorpe Power Corporation, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Combustion Turbine Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the performance, operations, and maintenance of simple-cycle combustion turbine technologies and generating assets.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations, complying with corporate policies and procedures, and all governmental regulations.
- Perform daily plant operations and maintenance, including start-up and shutdown of plant equipment, operator rounds, and maintenance of plant systems/equipment.
- Responsible for assigned work orders and systems ownership, including compliance with the Conduct of Maintenance Program and engagement in 4-week and outage planning and preparations.
- Maintain individual safe work practices, including completing required training and understanding and following the OPC Safety Manual/Procedures.
- Perform predictive maintenance and interpret data on plant equipment performance.
- Provide technical direction and leadership to Assistant Combustion Turbine Technicians and contractors.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in engineering or related physical science preferred.
- Six years of experience in operation or maintenance of an operating commercial power production facility, a large natural gas facility, or combustion turbine-driven naval vessel.
- Equivalent experience with a highly developed analytical and technical problem-solving background.
- Valid driver's license meeting Oglethorpe Power's qualification program requirements.
This position requires scheduled and call-out OT as plant operating and maintenance needs dictate. Production schedules require 24-hour coverage, rotating shift schedules are required. Travel is approximately 15%.
