RAYUS Radiology is seeking a dedicated MRI Imaging Specialist to enhance our team. As an MRI Imaging Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to operate MRI equipment to capture images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluation. You will adopt a patient-centered approach, ensuring that MRI services are delivered in accordance with professional standards and exceptional customer service. Each patient visits our facilities seeking clarity and reassurance. You will assist them through this sometimes challenging experience by providing clear explanations and addressing their inquiries regarding the examination process.
This is a part-time role, requiring less than 20 hours of work per week, with variable days and hours.
Key Responsibilities:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
- Screen patients prior to examinations for any necessary precautions or contraindications, utilizing two patient identifiers to confirm accuracy.
- Provide thorough explanations and prepare patients for MRI procedures, ensuring proper positioning for optimal imaging.
- Conduct routine and advanced MRI procedures on specified body areas for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient conditions, with minimal supervision or repeat scans, while offering patient support throughout the procedure.
- Adjust MRI scanning parameters as required.
- Maintain positive relationships with radiologists, referring providers, and colleagues.
- Adhere strictly to physicians' orders and safety regulations to protect yourself, patients, and coworkers.
- Accurately document patient information within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Keep the work area organized and clean, promoting good safety practices for patients and staff.
- Ensure compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
- Maintain equipment in optimal working condition; clean and disinfect after each use.
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
- Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as needed.
- Support the training of new staff, providing resources and technical expertise as applicable.
Qualifications:
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, currently in good standing.
- Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited radiography program.
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the relevant state.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Must possess training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently.
- Certification in imaging specialty.
- Bilingual capabilities.
