Job Summary

The Financial Counselor plays a vital role in ensuring the financial well-being of patients at Grady Health System. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive patient interviews to determine their financial needs and eligibility for assistance programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patient eligibility for third-party coverage and assist with applications as needed.
  • Comply with regulatory standards by explaining financial documents and obtaining signatures.
  • Accurately enter patient information into our enterprise hospital information system.
  • Collaborate with patients to develop personalized financial plans and provide guidance on available resources.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; a minimum of two years of college preferred.
  • Previous experience in financial counseling, patient access, billing, or cash collections in a healthcare environment is essential.
  • Proficiency in personal computer use and basic knowledge of software applications, such as Word and Excel.
  • Ability to accurately type 30-35 WPM and possess a basic understanding of hospital information systems, including EPIC.
  • CPAR Certification is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus.
