Work Schedule:

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures accurate patient identification and order confirmation, and prepares patients for imaging procedures.
- Conducts MRI scans in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Demonstrates understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and exhibits competency in anatomical positioning.
- Reviews and critiques own imaging results.
- Completes imaging studies within acceptable timeframes while maintaining high standards of patient care and examination quality.
- Collaborates with radiologists to select appropriate scanning techniques and protocols.
- Possesses knowledge of contrast administration protocols and, under physician supervision, administers intravenous contrast materials.
- Implements proper infection control and sterile techniques.
- Operates all MRI equipment and associated information systems effectively to ensure high-quality image production.
- Manages image viewing, transferring, archiving, and manipulation.
- Demonstrates proficiency with MRI scanners and troubleshooting procedures.
- Understands the operational aspects of magnets, cryogens, gradient amplifiers, and relevant computer systems.
- Familiar with the Quench procedure and its application.
- Adheres to MRI safety policies and the FOUR ZONE concept.
- Maintains knowledge of MR magnet safety protocols in emergencies.
- Completes all required documentation accurately, including timestamps and image storage.
- Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, and charging, and ensures proper consent documentation as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- ARRT registered technologist.
- Current state licensure (as applicable) for administering RX.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Minimum of one year of MRI experience.
Post-Hire Expectations:
- Achieve departmental IV certification competency within three months of employment.
- Complete the controlled substance module within six months of employment (if applicable).
- Complete the initial moderate sedation module within six months of employment (if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications:
- MR registered by ARRT.
Physical Demands:
- Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Vision, Standing.
