Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Stormont Vail Healthcare, Inc. As a key member of our care delivery team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Implement identified plans through coordination of care with interdisciplinary care teams to promote health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with care teams to achieve expected outcomes and provide excellent patient care.
  • Communicate pertinent data and information relative to the patient, situation, or setting in a timely manner.
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), accurate measurement and recording of weight, height, vital signs, and report any changes to assigned nurses.
  • Deliver care guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring, creating caring relationships and displaying unconditional acceptance and respect.
  • Promote a mutually respectful environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and supports the effectiveness of professional relationships and integrates ethics in all aspects of practice.
  • Demonstrate advocacy in all roles and settings, practicing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles in daily work.
  • Communicate effectively in all areas of professional practice and mentor new PCTs to ensure successful enculturation, orientation, competence, and emotional support.
  • Commit to lifelong learning through critical thinking, self-reflection, and inquiry for personal growth and development.
Requirements
  • Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program or a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
  • Active certification to practice in Kansas as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is required as a substitute for education qualifications.
  • Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days.
  • First Responder - RQI Required within 90 days.

This position is patient-facing and requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, communicate clearly and effectively, and provide high-quality patient care.
