Early Childhood Special Education Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Instructional Care Aid to join our team at AOS Staffing. The successful candidate will assist and support teachers in implementing an instructional and care program to promote each student's academic advancement and personal development.
Key Responsibilities- Escort, assist, and/or supervise students during play periods, movement throughout the building, to and from buses, toileting routines, lunch, snacks, specialized and inclusive classes, community activities, and other times as designated.
- Assist teachers in implementing behavior management plans, including observing, recording, charting behavior, and implementing a reinforcement schedule, as well as utilizing approved restraint methods when required and under teacher directive.
- Assist with test administration, under teacher directive, and communicate any problems or concerns regarding students to the supervising teacher.
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce skills previously introduced by the teacher.
- Guide individual students or small groups to reinforce skills previously introduced by the teacher, assist with large group activities, and maintain and organize work and study areas, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Score objective tests and papers with guidance and input from the teacher and assist with the maintenance of appropriate student records.
- Perform health-related procedures, such as feeding, lifting, positioning, carrying, toileting, tube feeding, cleaning catheterization, and suctioning equipment.
- Participate in workshops, in-service training, and parent conferences, attend specialized training as required to assist in the implementation of student's IEP, and serve as a resource of information and assist substitute teachers.
- Report parental concerns to supervisory teachers and perform other duties related to Special Education, as assigned by teachers or administrators.
- High School Diploma or its Equivalent (required)
- 60 College Credit hours (required)
- Passing score on Paraprofessional licensure exam (accepted in lieu of 60 college credit hours)
- Some experience working with children (required)
- Computer Skills (required)
- Experience working with teachers and students in an educational setting (preferred)
- Experience tutoring young children (preferred)
The successful candidate will work in a development center or public school setting, Monday to Friday, with a salary of $20.58 per hour.
