Job Summary:

Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Occupational Health team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our clinicians in delivering exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clinicians with exams and minor in-office procedures, including taking vital signs, documenting patient information, and performing phlebotomies.
  • Coordinate and manage patient care, including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital, and other ancillary medical treatments and tests.
  • Provide clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation, including complete medical records and billing information.
  • Maintain a clean and functional environment, including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas.
  • Order supplies and stock patient care areas, monitoring inventory and ensuring compliance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication mechanisms with external and internal customers, exemplifying service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  • Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program.
  • Current BLS certification is required upon hire. Medical Assistant Certification is required. If certification is not in hand at the time of hire, individuals will have 12 months from the date of hire to obtain certification.
