Medical Laboratory Specialist

As a Medical Technologist at Steward Health Care, you will play a vital role in the processing of laboratory specimens and reporting of results in all areas of the clinical laboratory. Your responsibilities will include maintaining laboratory records, following laboratory policies and procedures, and maintaining quality control practices in the Laboratory. You will also participate in Performance Improvement activities and provide service to patients of all ages, from Neonate to Geriatric. Other duties as assigned.
Regulatory Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences is required. You must be certified as a Medical Technologist, Medical Lab Technician, or Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform as a generalist. Eligibility to sit for certification exam as Medical Technologist, Medical Lab Technician, or Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform as a generalist is also required. You must obtain certification within 1 year of hire date. You must be able to perform testing in the following specialties: blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology. Certifications as indicated by the Steward Certification document are also required. Steward Health Care is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
