Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at NHC Bremerton Navy in Bremerton, WA. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to provide patient care and support, including administering treatments, instructing patients on exercises and activities, and assisting with patient education and communication.

Responsibilities
  • Administer treatments and exercises to patients, as directed by the physical therapist
  • Instruct patients on proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, braces, and prosthetic appliances and devices
  • Assist patients with learning and improving functional activities
  • Observe patients during treatments and compile data on patient responses and progress
  • Fit patients for, adjust, and train patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices
  • Confer with physical therapy staff and other healthcare team members to exchange and discuss patient information
Requirements
  • Associates Degree or higher from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant post-graduation
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapy assistant or possess current certification as a physical therapy assistant/technician as determined by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
