Overview: Eliot's Community Treatment Residence is dedicated to supporting latency age children referred by the Department of Children and Families. We are currently seeking a Milieu Specialist I who possesses at least one year of experience working with this demographic. The ideal candidate will excel in building positive relationships with a diverse group of children and families.

About Eliot's Social Services Division: Our division encompasses both short-term community-based assessment and stabilization programs, as well as longer-term assessment and treatment initiatives for latency age children and adolescents. We strive to create a safe, structured, and respectful environment where children and youth can thrive, develop, and grow through skill-building and permanency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily activities of youth, ensuring adherence to the plan of the day in line with program policies and procedures.
  • Act as the lead staff member during assigned shifts.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of Individual Action and Crisis Prevention Plans.
  • Participate in required supervision, staff meetings, and training sessions.
  • Facilitate daily group activities as assigned.
  • Manage program security equipment, including radios and keys, in accordance with policy.
  • Engage in community service, recreational activities, family visits, and other off-site events.
  • Safely transport youth to various activities, appointments, and visits.
  • Assist with intakes as necessary.
  • Serve as an Advocate for assigned youth, completing weekly Advocate Reports.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Commitment to a care model that emphasizes Trauma Informed Care and Interventions.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and related software applications.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Able to cultivate and maintain professional relationships with residents, staff, and supervisors, and work effectively with diverse populations.

Work Schedule:

Eliot is dedicated to identifying and dismantling barriers that hinder individuals with marginalized racial identities from achieving their full employment potential and engaging at all levels within the workplace.

Available Schedules:

Fri-Mon, 2pm-10pm

Fri-Tue, 2pm-10pm
