Job OverviewPosition Summary

Fandom is on the lookout for a visionary product manager to spearhead the development and implementation of a strategic 3-5-year roadmap for our Video offerings. This position will be responsible for enhancing the user experience of video players across the Fandom platform, exploring innovative content formats and features to boost user engagement and consumption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Content Team to establish the vision, roadmap, and objectives for new products and features aimed at enhancing user engagement and driving business growth.
  • Define ROI benchmarks and incremental investment strategies for Video products and features.
  • Enhance Video Discovery and optimize the placement, content, and functionalities of the Fandom Video Player.
  • Work with Data Science to tailor video content for each visitor to Fandom.
  • Create exceptional user experiences while balancing the necessity of generating revenue through advertising products.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across various departments, including senior leadership, community, revenue, marketing, product, engineering, design, and data.
  • Develop new monetization features and sponsorship opportunities in collaboration with the Revenue Team.
  • Partner with Marketing & Analytics to devise strategies that drive new Video engagement across the platform.
  • Utilize A/B testing, UX research, and a mix of quantitative and qualitative data to guide product decisions and prioritization.
  • Draft product requirements and functional specifications to direct product development.
  • Establish success metrics, determine how they will be measured, and assess their impact on company-wide objectives.
  • Analyze data and metrics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Foster buy-in for the product vision internally and with key external partners.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure the reliable delivery of high-quality products and features.
  • Partner with the community team to promote feature adoption and enhance user engagement.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years focused on consumer products related to content.
  • Proven track record of creating innovative and engaging customer experiences driven by data insights.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with the capacity to adapt to evolving environments.
  • Exceptional quantitative abilities, capable of conducting A/B tests, performing analyses, and deriving actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated product leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide teams.
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and convey them to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in defining and measuring engagement metrics effectively.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • A genuine passion for the entertainment industry and fandom culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with digital video player technologies.
  • Background in digital advertising or experience working with publishers.
