About the Job

The Cavco Family of Companies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and maintaining compliance with all relevant safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Open Communication with production management and supervisors regarding safety concerns.
  • Ensure Proper Training for all personnel in OSHA and company required safety programs.
  • Assist Line and Staff Management in understanding OSHA regulations and standards, including guidance on handling OSHA compliance, inspections, and citation follow-up.
  • Conduct Regular Safety Audits to ensure safe practices are followed, document deviations, and follow up to ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Maintenance and Stewardship of plant infrastructure, facility, grounds, tools, and machinery to mitigate safety risks.
  • Assist Line Management in observing workforce behavior and correcting any deficiencies.
  • Investigate Injuries in conjunction with line and staff personnel, identify root causes, and notify plant management and corporate safety team of pertinent details.
  • Oversee First Responder Team for first aid and/or CPR.
  • Timely Report Injuries to Company's worker's compensation insurance administrator and provide follow-up information as necessary.
  • Coordinate Emergency Services with local medical providers for injured or ill employees.
  • Coordinate Safety Data Sheets and ensure program details are current.
  • Ensure OSHA Required Reporting procedures are followed and accurate.
  • Review Accident Statistics and make recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Establish Accident Prevention Objectives and monitor progress.
  • Stay Informed of developments in federal and state safety laws and regulations affecting the plant.
  • Act as Liaison with government agencies on safety and health matters.
  • Maintain Knowledge of all OSHA and other safety regulations and requirements.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-2 Years of safety experience in manufacturing industry or construction.
  • Ability to Work in a Demanding Environment requiring physical activity, such as lifting, gripping, working overhead, and bending.
  • Demonstrated Ability to work with external regulators and support multiple teams to meet safety and production goals.
  • Knowledge and Experience with OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated Ability to support and encourage staff, demonstrate empathy, and take direction.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong Verbal, Written, Analytical, and Persuasive Skills.
  • Ability to Interact Effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Flexibility to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment.
