Job Summary

Crawford Country is seeking a skilled Emergency Medical Technician to join our team. As an EMT, you will respond to emergent and non-emergent calls, providing pre-hospital and hospital patient care that is within the scope of practice and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to patient care requests, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Complete documentation and records according to department and state policies, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Ensure vehicle and equipment are ready for response at all times, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Perform assigned duties in the Emergency Department under the supervision of the Emergency Room nurse, Paramedic, and/or Supervisor, working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees, community volunteer providers, hospital staff, physicians, and other allied health professionals, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Attend and complete all required safety and annual training requirements, staying up-to-date with the latest protocols and procedures.
  • Follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees, creating a professional and courteous environment.
  • Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department team, inter- and intra-departmentally, to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Professional Requirements
  • Complete annual education requirements, staying current with the latest developments in emergency medical services.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, adhering to strict confidentiality protocols.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled, maintaining a reliable and punctual attendance record.
  • Wear identification while on duty, ensuring clear identification and accountability.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and local regulations, ensuring compliance and adherence.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times, promoting a positive image and reputation.
  • Comply with all organizational policies, adhering to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities, contributing to the ongoing improvement of emergency medical services.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and in-services, staying informed and engaged with the latest developments and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Current state EMT certification, ensuring compliance with state regulations and requirements.
  • One year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, preferred but not required.
  • Current certification in CPR, American Heart Association Healthcare provider or American Red Cross CPR for the professional rescuer, ensuring up-to-date training and certification.
  • Must be a licensed driver, with a valid driver's license.
