Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for operating X-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body, performing quality control checks, and maintaining required documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate X-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
  • Perform quality control checks and maintain required documentation.
  • Translate examination into layman terms to relieve patient anxiety.
  • Perform various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures.
  • Position patients for taking of radiographs according to departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Recognize and report patients' motor abnormalities to the Radiologist.
  • Operate equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
  • Utilize film markers and ensure images are properly marked as the right or left side.
  • Ensure images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification.
  • Key in patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from requisition.
  • Arrange, attach, or adjust immobilization and supportive devices for patients.

Requirements:

  • Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
  • Current License to practice as a Radiologist in New York State, and Current ARRT Radiology registration required.
  • 1-3 years of technical experience, required.
