Senior Building Mechanical Engineer

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HDR. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll be responsible for coordinating the work of Mechanical Engineers and establishing client relations. Your expertise in mechanical systems will be essential in leading projects and ensuring code compliance. If you have a strong background in HVAC design and a passion for delivering high-quality results, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work of Mechanical Engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team
  • Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings
  • Assume the mechanical lead on many projects
  • Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance
  • Conduct schematic, design development, and contract document work sessions at project sites
  • Coordinate workload to complete documents on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work efforts to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis
  • Healthcare and Hospital design experience
  • Strong comprehension of OSHPD/HCAI requirements
  • Sciences, Laboratory, and Cleanroom experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination, and project management experience
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
