Position Summary:
MedStar Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Coordinator to enhance our patient care experience.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive exceptional service from the moment they arrive. Your responsibilities will include managing the check-in and check-out processes, collecting essential demographic information, verifying insurance details, processing copayments, and scheduling appointments.
As part of one of the largest healthcare networks in the Baltimore-Washington area, recognized for its commitment to employee wellness, this position offers a chance to contribute to a meaningful mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact at the medical facility, welcoming patients with professionalism and courtesy.
- Oversee patient intake, assess for urgent health issues, and ensure accurate registration while explaining financial responsibilities.
- Conduct check-in and check-out procedures, inputting patient charges and confirming demographic and insurance data.
- Facilitate smooth patient flow within the assigned department.
- Support organizational initiatives aimed at integrating new technologies, enhancing clinical programs, and improving overall patient satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in delivering high-quality customer service, ideally within a healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with ICD 9 and 10 coding is preferred.
- CPR Certification is required.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $29.96 per hour.
