Job Summary

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at the Good Samaritan Society, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. You will work under the supervision of an occupational therapist to assist patients with therapy activities and exercises, providing a supportive and enabling environment for them to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with therapy activities and exercises, as scheduled in a treatment plan, to improve their ability to perform daily activities.
  • Provide, monitor, and record therapy services to patients with physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial impairments.
  • Select, implement, and modify therapeutic activities and interventions to meet the needs of patients and the requirements of the practice setting.
  • Contribute to the development of patient care plans and provide documentation to occupational therapists about patient responses to interventions.
  • Follow accepted clinical practice guidelines and adhere to professional organization standards.
Requirements
  • Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice.
  • Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), when working at a Sanford Health Facility.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.
