Position Overview
The Material Damage division is seeking skilled and licensed Appraisers in the MetroWest MA area. We are in search of professionals who hold I-CAR certification and possess a valid MA Appraiser license.

Role Summary
The primary responsibility of the Appraiser is to assess vehicle damages and provide comprehensive appraisals, estimating the costs required to restore vehicles to their pre-damage state.

Key Responsibilities
1. Utilize industry-leading software and best practices to create detailed appraisals that outline the costs of parts, materials, and labor necessary for vehicle restoration.
2. Conduct inspections of both staff and independent appraisal firms, including potential Catastrophe Duty assignments.
3. Maintain a professional demeanor while adhering to company policies and state regulations throughout the appraisal process.
4. Stay informed about local labor rates, repair techniques, vehicle design, industry trends, and relevant state laws.
5. Provide expert advice on vehicle repairs, parts costs, and evaluate whether damages are related to accidents.
6. Resolve disputes and negotiate with auto repair facilities, Independent Adjusters, claimants, and policyholders.
7. Prepare accurate documentation of vehicle Actual Cash and Replacement values in accordance with regulatory and corporate standards.
8. Attend Arbitration and Litigation hearings as necessary.
9. Handle Heavy Equipment and Commercial vehicle losses when required.
10. Mentor junior team members and guide them through complex automobile appraisals.

Travel Requirements
Fieldwork may be required during business and non-business hours, including weekends. Overnight travel may be necessary for field losses, inspections, and re-evaluations.

Qualifications
- Valid Appraiser License with 6-8 years of relevant experience.
- I-CAR Platinum certification or actively pursuing it.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional knowledge in a specialized field.

Additional Skills
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and state appraiser license as required.
- Complete field appraisals, drive-in appraisals, and re-inspections promptly and accurately.
- Adhere to all appraisal guidelines and regulatory mandates.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and productivity.
