Position Overview: The Practical Nursing Specialist is accountable for delivering direct patient care and reinforcing care plans while providing essential support in an outpatient environment under the guidance of the attending physician or designated RN/LIP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver care across all age groups, ensuring an understanding of the functional and developmental stages of the patients served.
- Assist the registered nurse and/or healthcare provider by gathering comprehensive data related to the physical, psychological, social, and cultural aspects of patients in accordance with established standards.
- Effectively organize and prioritize nursing activities, taking into account the needs of patients and the interdisciplinary team.
- Implement tailored interventions that align with individual patient requirements as directed by the registered nurse or provider.
- Participate in assessing the effectiveness of care provided, facilitating patient progress towards desired health outcomes.
- Offer continuous education and support regarding care plans developed by the healthcare provider or RN, focusing on identified health needs and the patient's condition.
- Ensure a safe environment and the secure delivery of care.
- Take responsibility for personal professional growth and contribute to the development of colleagues.
- Exhibit teamwork in the provision of patient care.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Compensation: Position Compensation Range: $30.81 Hourly
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
- Experience: No prior experience necessary.
- Licensure: Must hold a valid license to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia prior to onboarding. AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification is required. A valid Virginia Driver's License may also be necessary.
Physical Requirements: The role may involve prolonged standing, frequent travel, and bending or stooping. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential. Attention to detail and legible writing are required. The ability to lift, push, or pull is necessary, and exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases may occur.
