About The Role

This position serves as a representative to current and potential banking clients who require commercial loan services to meet their needs. The role involves interviewing and performing credit analysis on new and existing credit applications, and making recommendations for approval or decline. The position also involves administering bookings, monitoring performance, and conducting visits to customers and community members to promote bank services.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed loan production goals as set annually by the manager in conjunction with First Security Bank's annual production goals.
  • Take applications for commercial loan business, review customer financial condition, and assess the customer's ability to repay the loan.
  • Makes underwriting decisions within approval authority, complete or direct completion of all loan documents, and closes loans.
  • Confirm details on loan documentation are complete and correct prior to closing to ensure accuracy and adherence to state and federal regulations as well as bank policy.
  • Participate in developing lending and deposit business for the company, call on clients to expand existing business, and call on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the company's client base.
  • Monitor existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base, maintain up-to-date client files, and assist in collection of past due loans.
  • Assist customers with any loan-related questions and concerns, and keep current on loan programs and lending regulations as well as all compliance and bank policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Community Service and Bank-sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of First Security Bank.
About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Lender to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial lending, excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Commercial Lender II - Two to four years of similar or related experience. Commercial Lender III - Four to six years of similar or related experience. Commercial Lender IV - Six to eight years of similar or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of nCino or similar commercial banking software preferred.
  • Education/Certification/Licenses: A Bachelor's degree in finance or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must possess current valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of banking compliance regulations and guidelines related to area of responsibility.
  • Skills in areas related to computer operation/use including working knowledge of Microsoft applications and ability to learn new systems/applications.
  • Ability to apply accounting, scheduling, and budgeting, measurement and calculation math skills associated with lending activities for purposes of data analysis.
  • Comfortable working with a variety of lending formulas and industry-specific equations and formulas with accuracy.
  • Communicate Effectively: both verbally and in writing with others in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrate soft phone skills by treating all internal and external customers in a polite and courteous manner.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off-site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
