The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist IV Lead Psychiatrist to join our team. As a key member of our psychiatric services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to individuals in our state hospitals. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients in our state hospitals.
  • Administer psychiatric treatments and medications as needed, in accordance with our policies and procedures.
  • Direct and oversee the work of other psychiatrists and mental health professionals, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care.
  • Develop and implement person-centered individualized care and recovery plans, taking into account the unique needs and strengths of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that our patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote high-quality psychiatric care.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in psychiatry or a related field.
  • Current licensure to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
  • At least 5 years of experience in psychiatric care, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
