Speech Language Pathologist PRN

The Speech Language Pathologist PRN provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Language Pathologist PRN performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals.
Responsibilities- Conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient's speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation.
- Administer objective tests to assess patient's communication assets and liabilities.
- Structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities.
- Evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress.
- Document progress in patient's chart.
- Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.
- Master Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Possession of a valid Virginia license to practice Speech Language Pathology.
- CPR certification within the 90 days of employment.
