Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY:

This role involves assisting in the repair and refurbishment of equipment, including refrigeration, heating, and ventilation systems, to meet customer requirements efficiently and accurately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver service to our clientele by repairing and overhauling equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and control devices in a safe, efficient, and timely manner that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Conduct general repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation systems, including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machines, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors safely and promptly.
  • Perform preventative maintenance by diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operational deficiencies to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Support departmental operations by processing job tickets and work orders efficiently.
  • Provide training to new or less experienced technicians as required.
  • Engage in minor construction and remodeling tasks, including the startup of new installations.
  • Operate company vehicles safely.
  • Carry out additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • EPA certification.
  • Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school is advantageous.
  • Valid driving record.
  • Knowledge of commercial refrigeration, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical components.
  • Familiarity with single systems, parallel rack systems, display cases, and walk-in boxes.
  • 5-7 years of experience in commercial refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical systems is required.
  • Experience working with refrigeration equipment in convenience and supermarket environments.
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing computer controls and commercial refrigeration systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to foster strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. unassisted and able to sit or stand for extended periods.
