Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Investigator

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Investigator to join our team. As an Environmental Health and Safety Investigator, you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement effective incident investigation procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address environmental, health, and safety risks.
  • Develop and maintain incident investigation reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on environmental, health, and safety procedures and protocols.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental health and safety, with a focus on incident investigation and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, including OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Certification in Environmental Health and Safety, such as CIH or CSP.
  • Experience with incident investigation software and tools.
