Medical Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Support Assistant to join our team at Akicita Federal, LLC. As a Medical Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and greet patients/visitors warmly.
- Answer phone calls professionally and address patient queries.
- Check patients in for appointments, assist with scheduling, and update billing information.
- Act as a liaison between providers, patients, and visitors, facilitating communication.
- Assist doctors and nurses with medical exams, tests, and ordering supplies.
- Manage, scan, and refile medical records, ensuring completeness and compliance.
- Handle Release of Information (ROI) forms and ensure accurate record releases.
- Enter and monitor information requests in RPMS/ROI, maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct searches for lost records, perform quality audits, and prepare records for retirement.
- Ensure all tasks comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency with electronic health records systems, specifically RPMS/Vista Imaging.
Knowledge of medical record-keeping standards and HIPAA compliance.
