Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in the Newborn Nursery at St. David's Medical Center. As a key member of the healthcare team, the CNC is responsible for coordinating patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and promoting a culture of excellence and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality care.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of patient care services and collaborate with subject matter experts to improve outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Collaborate with staff to operationalize current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, as well as implementing courses of action to ensure a competitively better organization.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse licensure and a Bachelor's Degree are required.
