Position Summary

The role involves maneuvering company-owned commercial tractors and trailers within designated non-highway zones, primarily in the yard. Responsibilities include backing trailers to loading docks and transporting equipment to and from logistics partners.

Work Schedule: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Work Days: Alternating between Monday to Friday and Sunday to Thursday

Key Responsibilities

Operation and Management of Equipment

  • Conduct yard inspections to identify and log vehicle issues, reporting maintenance needs to team leaders daily.
  • Gather and document equipment data including odometer readings and engine hours weekly.
  • Ensure trailers carrying perishable goods maintain appropriate temperatures.
  • Facilitate the loading and unloading processes for warehouse team members.
  • Reorganize trailers within the yard as needed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols including the use of chocks, cones, and signal lights.
  • Transport trailers to and from the logistics provider.
  • Ensure cleanliness of trailers through regular washing.
  • Assist with backhauls and support drivers on designated routes.
  • Respond promptly to management and driver requests.
  • Maintain compliance with uniform standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Engage in training sessions covering safety procedures and policies.
Documentation and Compliance
  • Keep accurate DVIR records.
  • Follow DOT logging requirements.
  • Be accountable for vehicle and cargo integrity.
  • Utilize timekeeping systems for clocking in and out.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • At least six months of verified commercial driving experience; one year preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement.
  • Must maintain a valid DOT medical certification.
  • Meet MVR standards to qualify for driving company vehicles.
  • Pass a background check every three years.
  • Availability for a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently, and 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Capable of performing heavy pushing and pulling of products.
  • Work in refrigerated environments and various outdoor weather conditions.
  • Exposure to loud machinery when necessary.

Compensation: $21.90 per hour
