Accounting Specialist

The Morin-Cameron Group, Inc. has been delivering expert civil engineering and land surveying solutions since 1978, serving the greater Boston Area.

This role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, at our office locations.

The Accounting Specialist will oversee the documentation of the organization's financial transactions and records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining comprehensive records of financial activities.
  • Establishing accounting policies and procedures.
  • Implementing systems to track financial transactions.
  • Reconciling entries to ensure subsidiary accounts are balanced.
  • Generating financial statements and reports.
  • Monitoring discrepancies from the anticipated budget.
  • Providing management with guidance on compliance requirements.
  • Supporting financial operations such as payroll processing and invoice generation.
  • Managing vendor invoices and associated payments.
  • Creating customer invoices and recording corresponding deposits.
  • Assisting in the recovery of overdue invoices.
  • Reconciling bank, credit card, and merchant accounts.
  • Handling Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and month-end processing and reporting.
  • Ensuring adherence to regulations, standards, and legal obligations.
  • Collecting and documenting incoming payments.
  • Collaborating with the Director of Operations on company projects.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in ERP Software.
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Capability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in accounting is preferred.
  • Must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
