Diesel Fleet Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Fleet Manager to lead our team of diesel technicians and trailer mechanics in ensuring our fleet of Mack, Kenworth, and Peterbilt tractors is running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage fleet and maintenance activities, including cost control and employee development.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify and address any issues or repairs needed.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory.
  • Provide input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Conduct and/or attend periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees.
Requirements:
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in maintenance operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and find effective solutions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and contractors.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in maintenance records and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of JPRO, Paccar Davie 4, and InSite Software systems.
  • Hydraulic PTO experience with walking floors is helpful.
  • Aluminum TIG Welding.
