Senior Solution Engineer

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solution Engineer to join our dynamic multidiscipline team responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting our enterprise IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cloud and on-premises solutions, with expertise in secure cloud-hosted and on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analysis of business needs and operational requirements to develop detailed technical, performance, and security requirements for advanced IT solutions.
  • Research and evaluation of available technology options and their respective functional and performance characteristics.
  • Solution concept definition, evaluation of alternatives, and provision of solution recommendations.
  • Solution implementation planning and management, including work breakdown structure definition, task planning, dependency analysis, resource coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Solution evaluation, testing, and acceptance coordination, including test planning, development and delivery of stakeholder training, problem resolution, and related tasks.
  • Development and maintenance of solution support documentation, including service catalog content, user/project manuals, FAQs, and related content.
Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience performing comparable systems engineering, implementation, and support functions.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Windows platform and services architecture, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, virtual desktop infrastructure, application deployment frameworks and components, networking, and storage services.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Azure and cloud services architecture, including compute, database, storage, network virtualization, and security services.
  • Working knowledge of network infrastructure, concepts of operation, and protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, Syslog, etc.
  • Working knowledge of endpoint security, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and other systems and security management tools.
  • Project management skills, including scoping, work breakdown structure definition, planning and scheduling, risk analysis, earned value management, and related concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Certified Professional / Systems Engineer certification.
  • Security+ or CISSP certification.
Abilities:
  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms.
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Identify and understand the speech of another person.
