Storage Solutions Architect

At LinkedIn, we're building a next-generation remote managed disk solution that will replace local disks for the vast majority of use cases. As a Storage Solutions Architect, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing a scalable and highly available storage system that can seamlessly scale to 100 PBs and serve 10s of millions of QPS at ultra low latencies.

You'll work closely with our Infrastructure Software Engineering group to build a culture of innovation, with a bias for execution. You'll define, enforce, and continuously raise the bar for craftsmanship at LinkedIn, bringing in best practices from the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a scalable and highly available storage system
  • Partner with customers and leaders to create roadmaps, drive alignments, and deliver products
  • Lead and mentor teams, while actively building and operating large-scale systems
  • Define, enforce, and continuously raise the bar for craftsmanship at LinkedIn
  • Build a culture of innovation, with a bias for execution

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions
  • 10+ years of experience programming in C/C++, Rust, Go, or similar languages
  • Hands-on experience developing large-scale distributed systems, databases, remote disks, and storage
  • 5+ years of experience as an architect or technical leadership position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • 12+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions with at least 5 years of experience in a technical leadership position
  • 12+ years of experience in an object-oriented programming language such as C/C++, Rust, Go
  • Knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies
  • Experience with industry, open-source projects, and/or academic research in large-data, parallel, and distributed systems
  • Experience leading high-impact, cross-organization initiatives

The pay range for this role is $218,000 to $357,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
